He received his Master’s degree in 1995, and his PhD in 1997. He studied English, Spanish and computer science at the universities of Leipzig, Leeds and Berlin (Free University).

It explores the syntax and semantics of intensifiers and offers a contrastive analysis of the properties of these expressions in English and German.
